Nerve Fiber Computerized Polarimetry
We have about 1 million nerve fibers in each eye, and up to half of these nerve fibers can die from glaucoma before any visual symptoms are seen. The Eye To Eye Clinic uses the high technology GDx™ Nerve Fiber Analyzer to determine how much nerve fiber loss has occurred before visual symptoms arise.
Both frequency doubling perimetry and nerve fiber layer polarimetry take just a few minutes to perform, and requires no dilation or touching of the eyes.
OCT and OCT Angiography
Detailed analysis of the optic nerve and nerve fiber layer can be achieved using optical coherence technology (OCT). Microscopic structures of the eye can be analyzed non-invasively, without any touch, puff, or flash of light, using this technology.
